I have been surprised to see so few wifi-based cameras and, more important, no Android camera or, no real camera provided by Apple. I mean, basically, every smartphone is embedding a camera, but not good enough, and “real” cameras are still working in a so old fashion way when it comes to publishing. That’s exactly the reason why smartphones are the most used cameras on photosharing websites like flickr.
So, that’s no surprise to see a company like Samsung working at last at Android-based cameras. Maybe, some conjecture, Apple may release a high-end compact based on IOS! Anyway, I am just wondering whether the “big guys” (Nikon, Canon) will continue focusing at defending their cash-cows or when they will get back to what they are good at: making great cameras, and allow users to publish their work in a modern way.
Quality image has become outstanding, now it’s really time to focus at the publishing workflow.
